At a time like this, when everything feels so uncertain — if you’re not feeling confident, who could blame you?
If you are struggling to regain your mojo, you must remember that true confidence can only be earned through results.
Some people believe that it’s as simple as telling yourself that you’re amazing, great, and successful. But when you know those things are just not true, you are simply mistaking ego for confidence and catering to self-deception.
The reality of it is until you have achieved a result that required you to endure trials and overcome opposition to get there, the “confidence” you think you have will be fleeting and temporary.
So how does one go about conquering challenges and gaining that lasting confidence? The first step is having the courage to push through and fight back because once you have solved the problem and crushed whatever adversity stood in your path, you will have something that no one can take away from you.
However, when you are literally or figuratively not getting out of bed, not taking another step, and allowing yourself to be beaten down and to simply give up, you are choosing to forgo that victory.
At the end of the day, true failure isn’t really failure until you quit.
You may not have all the answers today, but with courage, you eventually gain them. You gain those capabilities, and you figure it out.
You don’t need to be right every time. You just need to be right once.
If you are determined and persevere, you will always get to where you’re going because no matter how much adversity you face, how many downturns you face, and how many crises you face, you will know that you must pick yourself up and keep going.
In summary, if you want to build true confidence, you’ve got to earn it through results.
